What is the function of our tonsils? Is it okay to have it removed?

Tonsils - Tonsils

I've always had problems with my tonsils because they easily get inflamed. I can't enjoy chocolates because if I eat more than a bite, it'll be surely painful to swallow the next day. I've been thinking about tonsilectomy but I want to make sure that I'm not going to have a very important organ of my body taken out.

Had mine out years ago as I was continually getting sore throats. Had no problem since. Never known anyone have a problem, because they have no tonsils, so go and get rid of them, otherwise as you get older they will cause you more problems.

But they will cut your throat to take the tonsils out, won't they? Did you have to stay in the hospital after the operation?

You'd better ask a health professional about it. There is this medical procedure called tonsillectomy. It is actually a surgery for your tonsils. You must ask first your physician about it. There are other alternatives actually.
