Do you still use Lard to bake?

I have not found a better maker of fresh pie crust then good old fashion lard.I have tried everything I could think of.Bakers do you have any alternatives that is just as good for my holiday pies?

yes im afraid i must admit to using lard when i make yorkshire puddings...cooking oil just does not make them taste the same,even though lard is bad for you!

i will and here it is your oven must be red hot so they will rise!! 2 large eggs 1 pint of cold milk 6 heaped table spoons of plain flour pinch of salt and of course...lard put small chunk of lard into yorkshire pudding tray and place in top half of oven gas mark5 or 220degrees whisk eggs and milk and salt,then add flour little by little until you have a smooth consistancy pour into melted hot fat then place on top shelf in oven and cook until nicely risen and golden brown...good luck xxxx
