Has anyone heard of "Armed and Famous"?

I saw the first commercial for Armed and Famous yesterday. It is scheduled to air starting in January 2007. The reason I am interested in the show is that I live in Muncie, Indiana where it is being filmed. We have been bombarded by local stories concerning the show. There is a lot of public discussion about whether it is good for the city or not. The producer is from Muncie and has said that he would not portray Muncie poorly. But I've heard that before from other shows. For those not familiar, the show stars Eric Estrada, Trish Stratus, Jack Osborne, Latoya Jackson, and Wee Man. They went through 8 days of training to become certified Reserve Police Officers for Muncie. They then go out with another officer on the 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. shift on regular calls. There is a van following them with a film crew and they are documenting. It is sort of like Cops with a twist. I have so far only seen Eric Estrada when he responded to a family dispute involving my neighbors. He was smiling quite a bit and made sure to wave at passersby who would yell at him. I'm sure I'll be watching the show just because of the local interest but I wanted to know if anyone else will be watching?

Yep I live in Muncie to, I have the same concerns. I also have a sister that isn't all quite there and I worry we will see her on television. All we can do is hope that we are not portrayed in a bad way. But then you have community leaders like Randall Sims doing crazy things like beating out on his give and then look at what his girlfriend did she stabbed him for it. How do you think that is going to make Muncie look. Plus they are paying people to sign the releases. Its nuts.

Got to say Muncierebel, it was funny. I like the light the first episode put Muncie in. And hey not bad of the show giving the police department 3 Hummers. (The vechiles not the other, you pervs. lol j/k)Anyways hope the other shows are just as good and don't make our town look bad.

I too have seen this advertized on A&E. I will be watching it! I don't think you have to worry about how the portray Mincie. Everybody will be laughing at the "cops" and not the city! I loved the clip with LaToya Jackson and the firing range. 11 bullets missed the entire target!

We weren't even sure if LaToya was going to make it. She had trouble with the push ups the first day. I'll be interested in seeing if that is part of the show. I'll make sure to let everyone know if I see my house on the show.

I'm from nearby muncie too :) I've heard alot about it and have been reading all the comments people make in the papers. I don't think its that bad of a thing as long as they have respect for the people they are dealing with. But i'm sure we will be watching it when it starts airing :)

I'm watching because I grew up in Muncie and my parents still live there. Its a good show, I'm fairly impressed with the quality of the filiming and they are actually portraying our hometown in a positive light.
