oklahoma and it's weather

We've lived in Oklahoma the last 10 years. The drought here has been awful - we've watched our ponds dry up and cattlemen are selling cattle because of the lack of hay. The tornados have made life exciting too? Overall some pretty crazy weather and it is always changing. I've heard if you don't like the weather - wait 15 minutes! LOL

I lived in Oklahoma for 26 years. I'm from Norman myself, but have family in OKC and spent a lot of time up there. What they say about Oklahoma weather, is the same as what they say about Florida weather. If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute.

I am a born and raised Florida girl. But I have lived in many states from east coast to west coast. I have even lived in Kansas, Colorado, and now Okalhoma. And I must say, this weather this past year has been horrible! I wanted snow in the winter...where is it? We did get that freak snow just after Thanksgiving this year...but now it is in the 50's? This isn't December! This is spring weather. The poor plants are comfused and are not sure if they should start budding again! The summer was dreadful. Hot, hot, and double hot. I could not believe how hot it got here during the summer. It was so hot, I refused to let my children go outside to play for fear of them getting overheated too fast. Now, I don't mean to sound so negative. But really, what is up with the weather? Shouldn't we want to be sipping hot chocolate right now, instead of ice tea? On the brighter side, I am not in Florida anymore. LOL I was watching the weather report the other day and it was 82 degrees where I am from. So, I guess I should not complain too much about the weather being too warm here. I just hope that it snows so everything will stop dying. We lost a brush last winter because the ground was too dry even though we water through the summer and fall. And this year, I fear we may loose the large bushes in the front of the house...even though we watered all summer and fall again. I keep telling my partner that is is so warm for the plants, that we need to turn the sprinklers back on. But he seems to think that if we do that, we risk them freezing at night. Grrrr LOL

In Malaysia the weather is mainly hot and stuffy. When it rains it makes the weather misty. It's easy to catch pimples here because of the rainforest and tropical weather.

I can tell you what I think of the Oklahoma weather RIGHT NOW..this ice storm stinks!! I'm ready for some spring weather, although in Oklahoma, that means tornados!! What part of Oklahoma are you in?!?!
