I wanted to get an intelligent discussion going on Macs vs. PC's~
Please state you preference first before you argue your points. And lets try and keep it civilized :) Cheers

I'm a Mac person because I do a great deal of graphics work and also, I used to teach both Macs and PCs at Pepperdine University and the Mac is just far superior as far as I'm concerned.
For the person who said he uses a PC because it's what he's used to, the new Macs can easily run both Windows and Mac software now. You just have to have a piece of software that enables them to do so.
If you are comfortable with the PC and it has all you need, then stay with it. If you aren't doing a lot of graphics and basically using the computer for Word Processing or Excel and the internet and you don't need any other software, then learning to use a Mac isn't a necessity, though it is an asset for possible jobs.
If you know the Mac already, stick with it. They are wonderful machines and have so much capability without the hindrances and limitations of a PC. Of course, there are some restrictions for Macs on the internet but if you buy the software that allows you to use the newer Macs as a Windows machine as well, you would have the best of both worlds at your fingertips.
As I said, I do a great deal of graphic work so a Mac is simply an essential for me. And, I love them. When my boss at Pepperdine introduced me to Apple back in 1987, I felt like a whole new world opened up to me. It was a marvelous thing to me because I'm extremely creative and need a system like this to do what is in my imagination.
PCs are fine for those who just want to do word processing or other mundane type things, but a Mac is for artists and creative people. Most of the entertainment industry uses Macs and so do artists all over the world.
Anyway, that's my take on the issue.
