Antiques Roadshow

You have an antique that has been passed down from your ancestors for 300 years and the antiques road show is in town, you take the piece to the show and the expert tells you that it is worth a cool million would you sell it or would family sentiment mean more. I personaly would ask the expert where i could sell it without even thinking about the history.

Personally, I would never sell it. I would have it insured and documented. I would find out as much about the history of the item to document with it. I would then store it in a safe deposit box. I would pass it down and pray that it would continue to be passed down from generation to generation in my family. I would make sure that each family member knew the importance of the heirloom and the reasons why it needs to be kept in the family. Those things are things that money can never replace. It is all about the family history not the money.

I would sell it, probably to a museum where many could view it. I have many dreams I hope to attain, so that's what I would use the money on. We only have a short time to fulfill our dreams. There is a saying, "You don't own things, things own you."
