Because it's a part of their religion. Why don't you do some research.

Muslims pray 5 times a day to keep remembrance of God always in their hearts... If you speak to God that many times a day, how can you go wrong?.. it will prevent you from falling into the trap of the satan and be misguided. You're always in sync with reality: the fact that ultimately, one day you will face your Lord.

Not enough. Because comparing to their strength in the population of world, we can clarify them as Minority group. So they show their strength in unitedly before to their God in exchange of blessings and cooperation from him. Its nice way of making, they were united.

What is this? Muslim bashing? I'm a Christian and I respect the Muslims because they have a moral standard, where we so-called Christians are very tolerant of improprieties. If some of these Christian women would cover themselves instead of comming to Church service looking inappropriate, we would get more respect for what we say we believe in. That "Come as you are" rhetoric is nonsense. When Christian men stop eyeballing the uncovered women when they come to Church, they can spend more time concentrating on what Jesus is telling us: "Judge not..lest ye be judged.

Muslims pray so many times a day because they are required to do so. As Christians, we are also required to do so. St. Paul said that "we should pray always, without ceasing". We need to take a lesson from the Muslims in prayer discipline.

Thanks for reply. It is not our goal to injure the sentiments of any religion and its followers. It was asked only to gather more knowledge on some life time doubts.

Same reason Jews wrap those bands and boxes on the arms on 9th Av it is just ritual. Even if not religous people pick up rituals. Did you know most people with OCD have fears of being sick. We seek ritual for some reason.

Just curious, now when a Muslim prays 5 times a day are they set prayers ie- like the christians Lords prayer or are they free form sort of prayers where you speak to Allah directly from your heart about life how your thankful for it and whats troubling you.

Because of the belief that the angels and all beings in heaven pray at these exact same times and god requires humans to do the same. ^_^

I'm a Christian. I am supposed to pray without ceasing. However I do not have to do any religious traditions or rituals to pray. All I have to do is talk to God, using Jesus name and God hears my prayer. I think all that praying is religion, they know nothing about a personal relationship with God and it's getting them nowhere.

I will tell you with story I many times we have to pray to gods. Once upon a time Narad a great follower of Vishnu (HIndu God) Went to him and asked him who is greatest follower of Vishnu. Vishnu told that a farmer is his greatest follower. Narada couldn't believe what he said, because he was thinking that narada himself was the the greatest follower of Vishnu. So Narad went to check the farmer. To his utter surprise the farmer uttered god's name just three times. One time in the morning, one time in the afternoon and one time in the evening. Narada came back to Vishnu and told him "How can be farmer be the greatest follower of you, he thinks about you just three times, whereas I am thinking of you whole day." Then Vishnu said to Narada "I giving you a test, take this bowl and fill it with oil, you have to walk with this bowl for one whole day, the condition is that the oil should not spill over the bowl." Narada completed this test and cam back to Vishnu. Vishnu asked him how many times he thought of god, Narad Said "None" "Why" "Becase I was concentrating on the bowl". And then Vishnu said to Narada, "Look I have given you a work, Ok you have done the work, but you didn't remembered me once, but look at the farmer, he is suffering from poverty, he has to work whole day in the field, and yet he remembers me three times a day." So guys the "It doesn't matter how many times you pray to god".

Perhaps it's none of our business if we aren't Muslims because their praying doesn't affect us negatively in any manner much as their bombing sprees do!
