Hoe can I convert family Videos that are on DVD into a format that will allow me to edit inFinal Cut Pro

Final cut pro should support avi, so what I would recommend is using dvd ripper which should be able to rip to avi. :) if you need any more information regarding dvd avi let me know and I will help you out.
