Do you get your 5 a day?

Get 5 a day - 5 a day

The pros have said we need 5 a day, 5 servings of fruits and veggies to stay healthy. Do you get your 5 a day or do you get more? Or, are you like me... and often get less?

I don't think I've ever had my 5 a day. I need to strive harder to do this, I know. CJ needs to do this as well but he's so picky about his foods. I am trying to diet and exercise right now, so I'm really working hard at just taking a bite of something when I'm hungry and then waiting until the hunger pangs start again and repeat the process...lol

We always get our five a day. We cook from scratch and eat alot of veggies and fresh fruits. We usually get more than 5.

I usually eat two pieces of fruit each day but am seriously lacking in the veggie department. I wonder if that is why I feel so tired all the time. I definitely get less than the 5 day.

I guess if you take some multi vitamins to make up what you're missing out on it might help... I should try it myself! lol

I usually get less than my 5 a day :( but I've been working on it so far in 2007. That's one of my goals for eating healthy this year, I truly want to eat more fruits and vegetables and make sure my kids eat more healthy too.

I try very hard to get my 5 a day in. I do make a point of it for my daughter to get at least 4. She always has a fruit and a veggie for lunch (when she packs) and for dinner we try to always do 2 veggies. Often times we will snack on fruit... But I'm like alot of other posters- Its so expensive to buy fresh fruit and veggies- I run into the store to pick up stuff for a tossed salad and $15 bucks later I run out! For people trying to eat healthier its expensive- I stick with frozen veggies for dinner.. But fresh veggies and fruit for lunches and snacks.

assorted veggies - assorted veggies!
I wonder how many people actually do get five a day? My family is actually on a healthy regimen for our lunch. We have steamed vegtables almost every day, including broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, parsnip, and a few others. We also have a meat serving with it. For supper we just eat whatever we want, but we all share the same foods at lunch. I don't know how many families actually eat even this healthy nowadays, and I am thankful for my family!^_^

I think it's tough in today's hectic world to get your eating habits up to par!

I have to admit that no I do not get my five a day. I do get more than my share of chocolate though!!! I try to eat my fruits and vegetables, but somehow they have a problem getting onto my plate. If there was a magic button that I could push to get them to the plate then I would be fine. Once they are there I have no problems eating them!

I am more often like you. I get less. It's expensive to eat healthy. I couldn't imagine how much the food bill would be if I ate everything I was supposed to everyday. The only thing you can do, is do your best.

It's sad how expensive it is to purchase the 'good for you' stuff as opposed to the cheap, bad for you but oooh so good tasting stuff! lol

I try to but there are a lot of days when it doesn't happen. I'm really busy during the week so sometimes dinners are quick and I skip breakfast.
