What do you think about the cost of toys these days?

I went to Wal-Mart to get my son the new Flywheels XPV. He wanted it for Christmas. I get to the store to find that not only is the toy $50 but unlike the days when I was growing up RC cars no longer come with the battery pack and charger inside. These are sold seperate and cost an extra 30 dollars. I dont believe how much more expensive toys are now than 15 years ago. Do you have any thoughts about this?

ya really the cost of the cars are really becoming increased day by day.dont know why but really its difficult to buy so many toys.

I think the toys are more expensive this year than they were last year! I was out looking at the my little pony and polly pocket items and many of them were $50.00! What the heck is that all about?!? Even the Dora castles were $50.00! They are made of plastic for pete's sake. I could see it if they were indestructable but these are toys that will eventually have lost pieces or will break. It really makes it hard to buy something your child will be really excited about. My middle daughter wanted the Amazing Allysen doll this year. I found it on sale for $60.00 and still thought that was outrageous.

Yes i know. I remember when Tonka trucks came out. They WERE indestructable and they didnt cost anywhere near the price of toys these days. And the furreal pony is nearly $300.00. Thats just crazy. Thank you for your response.

I can't believe how much some of the toys cost either! Even the video games are about $50 for the newest ones and I've found it really hard to keep within a budget with toy buying this year.
