what's the main difference between love and friendship....

people use to say first step of love is friendship but still these are two different words..
so basically whats the difference between these two...

well there is no difference to me, maybe in meaning but in fact they go as both. when you love someone you start in friendship and when a friendship starts you will love and care fro the person... so i gues there is no difference between the two both are just fine with each other.
