I was diagnosed at the age of 42 ( I am 47 now) with adult ADHD.

I have always had problems with concentration. And even though I have always been heavy, I used to get into trouble for constant movement. If someone made me sit still I would get "twitches". My mom and dad took me to mental health when I was 17 because I would not go to school. I ended up in a rehab center until I was 18. Nothing was really ever done to help me. Probably because no one new how. I have looked far and wide to find info on ADULT ADHD, for me. My son also has the same, but all the doctors tell me I can not use meds. I am told I am not eligible for SSI. Yet I have not been able to hold down a job. I have had many, but have not kept them! I am tired of living life in the fast lane( that's what it feels like). Does any one know where I can turn? I do not have medical, I cannot afford tests, I am not eligible for any type of assistance! I live in Ohio. Does any one have any suggestions? I have looked into CHAD, but they want a lot of money for there news letter and it is more geared to kids and young adults.
