I have been trying to grow my hair long for a few years. It seems to be stuck just before it reaches my shoulders. Someone told me that it will grow faster if I don't wash it everyday. I can't not wash my hair everyday or it looks bad. Do you have any other sure thing ideas on vitamins or foods that encourage your hair to grow faster and longer?

My hair always grew like crazy when I was taking prenatal vitamins. They are available anywhere(Walmart is where I bought them) and you can take them even if you are not pregnant. It also seems to grow more and tends to be stronger when I eat jello more often. I would think washing your hair on a daily basis would stimulate the scalp and promote hair growth, but I am not an expert.

I have long hair and wash it every day, sometimes twice a day in the summer if the day is hot and sweaty. Washing the hair means massaging the scalp and this will help stimulate growth. One of the problems could be that you are not massaging your scalp but rather just washing the hair itself. Also you do need to have it trimmed regularly to get rid of the split ends, which we all have unfortunately. I generally have my hair trimmed every couple of months, but the length of time between appointments depends on how my hair looks and feels. Getting rid of the split ends, stops them from going further up the strand of hair and breaking off, so whilst you might lose a little length by regular trims you gain because the hair does not break off. Others have given you several suggestions here, and you might like to look into them as well. Good luck. :)

hair grows faster if it gets enough vitamin E. in local stores check out if you have shampoo brands that has more vitamin e. if not, you may opt to put in powdered vitamin e yourself. this is tested and is provides better hair.

Take little split lead weights used by fishermen and attach these to the ends of your hair. The longer you can stay upright the better so that gravity does the work. Sleeping sitting up gets better or quicker results. But take great care when swimming!

I've heard cutting out the split ends help it grow faster.

i think your hair will only grow fast if your hair has a tendancy to grow fast. my hair grows fast, but it seems like it takes forever to grow long. i am in a stage right now, where i want it to grow long. i think minor hair cuts will be your best bet and a all natural calcium and magnesium supplement. good luck.
