The Avars People In Caucasian, what language to the Avar people belong to?

I have a question to ask about Avar people in caucasus particular in Dagestan ,Russia ,are the Avar people language belong to the Turkish or Indoeuropean ? are the Avar of today are the same people who Conquer europe and know as Avar khanganate in 600-700an ?are they mongoloid people as well ,thank you .
