Have you ever broken anything in your body? I only broke a couple of toes and did that hurt. I cannt image the pain of a leg or arm.

In June of 1994 I was in an automobile accident and broke my hand. That was the first broken bone and thank goodness the last. It was very very painful. I had to have surgery on it. They put pins in to hold the bone in place. It healed good and I got 90% of my use of it.

I have broken toes a few different times and it does hurt a lot.
I broke my nose a few years ago, and it was incredibly painful. I didn't even think it was broken at first, though. I was running down a short flight of stairs outside of my son's room at daycare and fell face first onto the sidewalk. My face was pretty messed up and my husband came and took me to the emergency room because we thought I might need stitches. Got no stitches, but had an x-ray and found out that my nose was broken.
I went to one doctor who wanted to break it again and then re-set it, and he said that he could "fix" the bump on my nose at the same time. This totally freaked me out and I went for a second opinion. This doctor said that my nose was healing fine on its own and I didn't need plastic surgery, but that perhaps the other doc had thought I might like to take advantage of the situation.
I actually like the bump on my nose, and I didn't want to go through the pain of doing this surgery for what ultimately amounted to cosmetic reasons. My husband was surprised. He thought I would jump at the chance to have plastic surgery.
Now if they had wanted to do some liposuction on my middle to make up for the broken nose, that would have been one thing.... but I like my nose just the way it is, thank you!

I've broken my ankle, which was bad, but when I broke my collarbone, that was absolutely the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life! I was in so much pain that I started having panic attacks every time I thought about the pain even after it healed..it didn't heal right and still hurts when the weather is going to get bad, but the pain of breaking it and thereafter for a few weeks literally brought me to my knees!
