Dangerous pedestrians

Okay, before i was able to drive i never appreciated just how much danger pedestrians put themselves in, and many lead to accidents. One day I was driving along a road and had to slow down to let a car out of a parking lot, than as i was speeding up these 2 young cyclists ahead of me were cycling on the road. Suddenly 1 of the lads swerved right out in front of me! I had to slam on the brakes and was thankful that i'd had to slow down a few seconds earlier. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I think the worse thing is when people walk along in the dark along country roads and don't wear reflective clothing, or carry lights. It's impossible to see them.

And country roads ain't the widest roads either, plus you'd be concentrating extra on the roads ahead as they can be fairly twisty.

The loopers walking along the road can be fairly "twisty" too after staggering out of the local at all hours. LOL!

Yes I have many times and it seems to getting worse and they don't seem to care also People just cross the road now and don't even look if a car is turning in or anything like that

You certainly have to be on your toes.

That's nothing to do with pedestrians, that's about cyclists, who, from what I can gather, think they own the road and can't be hurt.

i've had plenty of people who look like they're about to cross the road, than stop, than start up again, talk about confusing as hell!

Yes the kids where we live know you are behind them and they just stay there. They don't move.

I've almost gotten hit several times, I hope that I stay out of everyone's way when I'm walking or on a bike. In California, it's a $75 fine for jaywalking b/c there are so many accidents out there, which are actually the pedestrian's fault.

yah i nearly got myself knocked down a few weeks ago, i was in my college town and didn't realise it was a 2 lane road, long story short, the traffic had stopped for red light, i stepped out, and a car coming up in the 'turn right lane' ran over my foot! I was so lucky, a 2nd earlier and who knows?

Yep, they are everywhere. Thankfully, I haven't hit anyone yet too.
