How does this work?

Ok so I read questions, I give my opinion and then what? I ask a question, you give your opinion and then what? How do you earn money? How much do you earn? I can't find anything that tells me how it all works. Please help!

You start a topic and then someone responds thats an earning you respond to discussions thats earning.They have a rule to where it has to be quality simple questions like whats your favorite color,im i pretty will not count.The number beside your name is your rating that is the number of reponses and discussions you have posted.It can lower if someone gives you a - rating

Thank you for your response. I've posted on discussions, I asked a couple of questions and I uploaded a few images so I think I'm on the right track. I did go to the faq page but I guess what I'm asking is what determines the amount you get paid? Is it $0.01 per post I make? Do you earn anything by adding a comment to a response? And I'm still not sure I understand the uploading images. I've uploaded 3 of my favorite pictures but what does that do?

I am still wondering myself how to maximize earnings, I guess getting lots of productive referrals helps as well as posting and responding to meaningful discussions.
