faith and ignorance

Why is there faith? Is it because of ignorance? Ancient people believed in what they can't explain as gods like the sun, lightning, mountain, and mostly the environment. Some even have daily human sacrifices because they believed that makes the sun go up every morning. Through the advancement of science these have all been explained. And less and less people are believing.

Good questions, here's some more. Could it be those that don’t have faith, are ignorant? Could it be the many of us that DO, maybe we know something they don't? Maybe we experience something they have not? Is it just maybe, we with faith do not need some guy with a lab coat to break it down in a mathematical equation, something we already know in our hearts? BTW do you have stats on the comment about less and less people are believing? I love learning something new everyday and it would be great if you could share that with me. Thanks

Faith can't be measured and is not the same with every people. Just look at what's happening outside.

Well if you would like me to go by what's outside my window, then I disagree with your evaluation. There seems to be a HUGE increase in those with religious beleifs than those without. How ever until I have some actual facts (stats, studies, surveys) to support that, I'm not going to pretend I'm right.

I'm not sure if there is or not but religion and faith are not exactly the same. Faith is not something you join to or agree upon, it's within you.
