I was just wondering at what age can you switch from puppy food to adult food? My puppy a 6 month old Chocolate Lab, and weighs at least 55-58lbs.

hi there i believe it 1 year old thats about when to do it but then saying that my collie when he was a pup his food would go right trough him so he started eating adult food from the age of 7 months. its best to keep them on the puppy food as they get all the extra vitamins from the food. you could always ring a vet for advice or i know that most dog food cans or bags have a advice line on them. good luck

Thank you for your response! I was thinking of starting to switch her around 8 months, as she is eating 6 cups a food a day of the puppy food. I think giving the vet a call is a good idea!

I started to feed my dog with adult food when he was about 8 months old.generally, breeders recommend to switch from puppy to adult food around 1 year..but my vet told me that i can do this by 8 or 9 months.he recommended me Eukabana from the beggining. Now I feed hem with pedigree but when you switch i recommend you to use Eukabana.Good luck!

Acutally on the brand of the food you see the years your dog should be eating puppy food, adult then to senior dog food. I use "U-Ka-NEW-BA". Check the store and take a look at the bags of dog food.
