How Safe Is The School Bus these days?

When parents send their children to the bus stop each morning, they don't expect their ride to school to end in any fatal accident. Dozens of students gets hurt when the bus crashed into cars or a light pole. The driver always says the brakes did not work or any other excuse. So how safe is the school bus?
