I have little idea about China's spring festival.I only travel to China during Oct or Nov coz this is not the pick season. Everything cheaper, less congestion, lower rate hotel, cleaner and more relaxing envieroment . But it's too cold. I have eaten "jiaozi" before, it's quite delicious. I like the "huoguo" in Shanghai, I like to visit the "laojie" in huangshangshi where I can get a lot of cultural stuffs like "xuanzhi" and "maobi", the "zhujiaochu" in guangzhou is the most deliciou dish ever tasted and .... there are so many many wonderful things in China, hope that I can "jiu di chong you".

Hi xbcom2007, I feel really glad to come upon a friend like you who are so enthusiastic as to give me lots of information about the fascinating spring festival celebration. I feel rather sad to miss all those peculiar items you had mentioned. As the descendent of the dragon I wish I could visit China during the vivid and lovely spring season. As I stay in a tropical country I always like to experience the coolness of winter. That is why I visited China several times during winter season lol Hi yueliu, Thanks for the best response and I really appreciate it. Happy postings and with best wishes.

To my countrymen who will be abroad during the spring festival. I'm a oversea student from China and studying in Korean, this spring festival will be my first time to apend alone. I think there are many fellows from China running every corner of the world, they could not enjoy their times with families and friends to celebrate this great festival, just as me. Well, I think we can make a wish for all of us, including our families and friends, wish everyone have a happy and honey spring festival. And for the friends from other countries who like China very much and ever or never been to China, you are welcomed anytime. It is advisable to you guys to vist China during the spring festival, amazing Chinese cuisine, well provided accommodation ,and fantastic traditional show will give you a wonderful experience.

Perhaps you aren't familiar with the chinese name. The English name is Dumplings and the spring festival is the chinese equivalent of new year(new year on the lunar calender).

Spring Festival is fun. I like watching everyone setting off fireworks. Fortunately, most of my neighborhood goes back to their hometowns for the holiday so it's not so noisy. Last year in Shanghai, the fireworks just never stopped for two solid days. If you celebrate with a chinese family... beware of the baijiu.

I'd love to go to China one day. It like to see pictures on China. They are so beautiful. And i heard it's a good place to go shopping too besides the site seeing.
