I have just finished to read a book regarding muslim traditions about marriage: it is not the girl or the boy that can choose who marry, but only the parents. it is like a contract. Do you know something more about this traditions?? Is there any people here that had this problems? I think that everybody should be free to do what they like in their life! but i understand that sometimes it is very hard to forget old traditions! what do you think??

well I don;t knw much about the western countries, but the arranged marriages are still in India.. not only in muslim community in Hinduism also arranged marraiges are there . where parents choose the bride/grooom for their Child. Though I do not knw much about the Muslims, but in our society, now a days in arrange marriage, guy and a girl speaks with each other and can decide if they ant to get married.. may be in rural india it is still not permited but in urban India its fine.

Sweet, I think as you that everybody should be free to do what they like in their life or better...: everybody MUST be free to do what they like in their life. Traditions & Religions aregood things, but the word is changing.. or not ? Good discussion theme !
