Is the weather becoming worse or unstable?

The weather, over the years, seems to be unstable and changing a lot. I have heard this for years. I think it may have to do with all our going up to space. Where I live, it rarely changes. It is the desert, and it is hot most of the year. No snow, no rain.

I have always been fascinated with the desert. It does rain a bit though, no notice of it being less or even more with flash floods?

Do you have records there that show that this is a one season event or is it becoming the average? Thanks for responding to my discussion!!

I am in Oklahoma and all month we have been above normal. Instead of having weather that it cold...the weather is just too warm. I went to a Christmas party in the neighborhood and a Fire Fighter that lives in the neighborhood was there. We started talking about about the weather difference of where I am from (Florida) and here (Been here a year now). And he was telling me how for the past 5 years Oklahoma has been i a drought that also has brought higher than normal weather.
I guess this would be Global Warming?

Yeah, we have bees and wasps still flying around on a 47 degree day in December on the 30th with the sun shining. Hoping we get enough freeze days so all the apple trees and other trees can set buds for fruit next year. What is it with the tornado in Texas just after Christmas?

Some think it is Global Warming, some say it is the O Zone. But if you look back in History it can also be the Mother Earth is going back into a cycle. There are alot of good points on the Global Warming as with all the cars and factories it all adds into with the smog and that doesn't help. we are cutting so many trees down also and we need them to help with the air.
Here in Vegas I have seen it real cold in the winter, down to freezing and I have seen it really nice all winter. It seems to go into a cycle here. But I have to agree it is getting a bit unstable...

The climate is changing, and it's not just anecdotal - the scientific data shows dramatic change.
It is true that the earth has had very warm periods before eg the jurassic period. But humans hadn't evolved into existence then. We are creatures of the ice age (and we are still in an ice age as long as there is permanent ice on the poles).
I'm not sure we can evolve fast enough to cope with any climate change. Insects for instance reproduce very rapidly and can show evolution to new conditions within months (and viruses can mutate within weeks). Humans only give birth every 25-40 years (the eggs in women reflect the conditions on earth at her birth, the sperm in men reflect conditions at the time it is produced, so the male contribution could help in our evolution to adapt). And yes, humans are slowly still evolving - witness the change in tallness from a couple of centuries ago, plus improvement in IQ in general.
Whether the climate change is a natural phenomenon or man-made, it's in our interests to stop it, as our survival as a species depends on it.
