Karate became one of the worst fighting style because of demilitarization by America after Pearl Harbor. Karate used to have some of the sickest moves effective for killing. But all those moves were banned(now it's purely for self defense). Ninjitsu also banished after that event tool place. Idiots say it's a mythical style that uses magics but it's not. It was one of the best assassination arts taught in Japan. happy mylot day.

I started to love taekwondo when I was on my high school years and I learn to be more disciple and more patient with others specially the one who are into fight for no reason. Aside from the benefit of I would not be afraid to walk alone because I knew how to protect myself it made me a discipline member of my community.

Just about every martial art is beneficial in just about every aspect of your being, as long as you take it seriously and have a good, honest Sensai, Sifu, etc...I've seen a trend today especially in the US where there are a lot of these so called perfect stylists and instructors that are just looking to show you a couple of quick techniques and movements to get your money, just make sure you do a lot of research before you do anything.

I don't practice karate, so I wouldn't know, but I do study martial arts and practice them, and as a general statement I will say that all martial arts, in their core, or nothing but good for a person, if you are the right person with the right reasons for wishing to join, the martial art, though, in its core, is good and can give only benefits and insight. A stonger, more flexible body, mind, and spirit is nice, too, am I right?

Like any martial arts, it is self-discipline and the rest will follow (coordination, vigor, stamina, good health).
