I planned to start writing ebooks as one of my passive income stream. I am really passionate about this venture that I even registered a domain name and paid a year's server hosting. There are many of you who are in this area of writing ebooks for a living. Let's hear from you. This is not just for me, but for all who feels and think the same thought patterns as me. Your comments and advices are greatly appreciated.

I would love to be able to help you in the eBook / information product area . . . but right now I am packing to go away for Christmas holidays. Back 28 December. The place I'll be is very rural . . . no computers, no internet connection !!!

I would also love to learn more about writing an ebook. It is always nice to put your ideas on paper and if you can get some extra amount for that, then it would be really nice.

I'm currentl in the process of doing this, I have a similar discussion going and I have had some great advice so far- too much to break down here. Take a look if you like. I have just finished writing my ebook, and am in the process of researching for the next one :D Can I ask you a question? Or teo? Whats a domain name? What do you need it for? Whats server hosting, and what do you use that for? Okay I am naive, dumb, a newbie, whatever but if II dont ask, how will I know? :D What do you write ebooks on if you don't mind me asking?

Megs, A domain name is the name you purchase when you get a website. For example http://mylot.com is the domain name for this site. Hosting is something you purchase in order to host your site, images, etc on the web. I think it would be beneficial for your ebook if you took the initiative to get a site up and running, but if you're that much of a newbie in that respect, maybe a blog would be a better route for you since it does most of the hard work for you. Best of luck to you with your ebook.

As a newbie to ebook writing, I have just learnt that one must have a theme in mind first before holding up the pen. I tend to go on inspirations on things I see around. Then I record the ideas on my pda so that I can decide which to go first. So far, the two best area I am looking at are travel/holiday scenes and online business opportunities. May those with more ideas and inspiration help guide us along.

I am not sure whethe3r the gutenburg project would help someone planning to sell ebooks, since the offer only public domain works, and those for free, but I do agree that it is a great resource.

When you have written your book, check this service out - it allows you to sell your ebook, collect payment, allows hosting of your ebook and automatic download after payment, all for free! http://o-y2vlf3x1vxet9fozk.usercash.com Of course, there is a premium paid service too, but you can start for free. An example is here: This is an ebook called Adwords Made Easy, which I am offering for 5$ : http://7yyu1yw9g-nbzskohxt.usercash.com

I love your idea and your humble but passionate enthuasiam. I have been writing for years but had never seriously considered publishing any of my stuff until recently when several friends suggested that I'd be an idiot not to. I purchased not one but four domain names and server packages and am really enjoying tinkering around with my little projects. For me the biggest challenge is probably on the technical end as I am not real hip to all the internet stuff like tag lines, key words, serch engine placement and such but all of that will come as my projects and my self develope and get our cyber chops together. I am finding in this early stage that for me, the most gratifying part of all this is simply that I AM WRITING new stuff every day...but of course I would LOVE to create a strong niche and make scads of dough for my writing and am always on the lookout for resources that might contribute to that end. Write On Kiddo!

I am glad you share my enthusiasm. My passion has kept me going even though the going is tough. There is a saying that when the going gets tough, then the tough got to get going. I already thought of some themes to write on. Just keeping my fingers crossed that my eventually finished book will be well received and sold.

I recommend trying http://www.lulu.com or A Cafepress store like mine first... To get started... http://www.cafepress.com/dnatureofdtrain/ My cafepress store has not sold alot I sold one book lol.. ooo But for a person like me who is not a professional I consider that pretty good. I just need to market more is all. But I do like their set up for starters. - DNatureofDTrain
