Ohhh boyyyy ... have you got a treat in store for you or what .. the Discworld series is super fun ... but it does go in order ... there is a story that slowly unfolds and weaves it's way throughout the series although each book also has it's own story if you see what I mean ...:o)
The Colour of Magic: Discworld #1
PUBLISHERS SUMMARY:
The Colour of Magic, the first novel in Terry Pratchett's wildly imaginative Discworld series, takes the listener on a remarkable journey. The magical planet of Discworld is supported by four massive elephants who stand on the back of the Great A'Tuin, a giant turtle swimming slowly through the mysterious interstellar gulf. The adventure begins when an eccentric expedition sets out to explore the planet. The group, including an ineffective wizard and a naïve tourist whose luggage moves on its own little legs, encounters dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and of course "The Edge" of the planet.
At lot of people might tell you not to start with this book and to be honest it's probably not Terry Pratchetts finest writing .. but I enjoyed it immensely and it just gets better and better as you go through the series ... in any case as you have to start somewhere the 1st book of a series is usually the best place to start ... have fun ...
Sigh ... you know I almost envy you ... you still have all the wondrous delights of the Discworld yet to come ... I've already read all the books so I know you are going to enjoy yourself ...:o)
Unmissable .. unputtabledownable .. hehehe
