Which tube amp for metal?

I have started playing guitar 2 years ago and i have a laney lc15r. But i need much distortion so i'm looking for an engl amp! how about their model?

Hi, it depends on your taste, each amp has its own characteristics for general metal though, i would recommend Mesa/boogie Dual Rectifier Head, The sound is very "punchy" but a little on the treble-side, you could also look at their website or just try mesa amps, they are really nice If you like slayer, then perhaps a Marshall JCM800 is good for you, It is known for it's crunchy sound Marshall JCM900 is also good for metal all in all, it's all down to your own taste, just visit your local music store and try out or simply discuss it with the employees there as usually they are quite good at recommending stuffs all the best

Hello, I read on laney website that LC series is the one more fitting to metal genres... If you need more distortion you could try using an overdrive pedal (tube screamer or other overdrives) to boost the distorted channel of you amp... Let me know what you did, bye
