Don't you hate when you get in the car to go to work or to the grocery store and a downpour comes along, so bad that you are unable to see in front of you, do you pull over and wait for it to pass or do you keep driving??

I do try to pull over and park. It's dangerous to drive in torrential rain and if I can't see, I can't drive. My husband nevr pulls over and it drives me nuts!

My first reaction is to drive slower. Most often in Florida, if you put on your emergency brakes and drive slower, you will get to where you are going and safer because the emergency lights help others see you. But if that is even too hard to see...I pull over. Normally it will break after a little bit enough for one to make it to work or home. Ever get caught walking in one of those storms? Awesome! Instant drench!!!

If the the rain storm is so bad that I can not see, then I definitely would pull over to the side of the road and wait til it slowed down enough to see or stopped. If I am close to a shopping center, I will pull over there and go into the store and look around while the storm passes. I would not want to risk my life or someone else's life by driving in a storm and not being able to see anything. This goes for a white out from a snow storm as well.

It rains here ALL the time.I just try not to drive as much. If it does get to bad I pull into a parking lot.

I usually pull off the road into a parking lot of a store and wait till it passes. There have been a few times when I'm in bumper-to-bumper traffic and a severe rainstorm comes along and I will usually just crawl along with the other cars because we are all going so slow already.

Usually I pull over. If I absolutely can't see then you pretty much have to. Of course right now I am more concerned about snow to the point of not being able to see, but in the summer it happens sometimes.

If the storm is so heavy that I can't see other cars or even where I'm going, I put on my emergency flashers and find the nearest place to pull over and get off the road. I'm amazed at the number of people who are still going the speed limit or even higher when conditions are this bad. It's too scary for me to keep going when it's that bad.

if it's really a hard rain and i can't see or drive more than about 20 mph safely i will pull over and wait for it to slack up...i absolutely HATE to have to get in or out of the car when it's raining!...i never mind a walk in a summer rain, but not when i have to go in somewhere!

It depends on if I have a safe place to pull over. So many streets and the sides of streets flood when it rains like that along with parking lots. Makes it very difficult. One reason we got an SUV finally becuase of it. Any major storm where it down pours it floods the streets so at first I'll slow down to see if it will pass. If it won't I'll try to find a spot to pull over as I inch down the road at a very slow crawl while watching out for deep areas.

I have been caught in a rain down pour so bad I had to pull over. I could not see even with my wipers on high, so I pulled over just to be safe right where I was. It was not worth getting into an accident.
