Best way to...

Lose some weight is? I currently believe I am overweight (I weigh about 300 lbs, but I'm 6'5...so it's not THAT noticeable). I'm just wondering if there is a better way to lose weight than what I am currently doing. I tend to go for lots of walks recently, with my dog or with my girlfriend, and I casually do some sit ups and push ups, but I've been doing this for a very long time, and it doesn't seem to really help at all. I really think I have a slight obsession with food. In fact, just writing this is making me very hungry. Does anybody have any kind of tips that I could use? Please?
