Christmas or New Year?

Christmas is usually about the gifts, the christmas dinners, the trees, the christmas shopping etc. Meanwhile New Year is all about new year resolutions, parties, booze, etc. Which do you prefer? I personally prefer New Year because it is more fun. Christmas is usually solemn, more religious, and very family oriented. But years ago,w hen I was still a kid, I would prefer christmas because I hated fire crackers.
