What do you think about online relationships? I dont quite get why some people still have an issue with it. I have been married for almost years now to a man that I met on the internet, we lived far away from each other, really hit it off and things went wonderfully.
When you think about it, is it really all that different then meeting someone in a bar or from a personal ad, I think not.
I guess since mine has a great ending, I just dont see what the issue is

maybe because it is a bit dangerous falling for someone you haven't seen face-to-face. but then, who says falling in love is safe at all?
there are a lot of horror stories going around about a woman (mostly asian women) being married to someone who she've met on th web (10 years ago, it was thru pen-pals, how times have changed!) and then ended up being abused or worse killed!
but in my opinion, having an online relationship is quite like having a long-distance relationship -- in this case, you've seen your other half. If lovers who see each other fairly often sometimes end up badly, the odds must be higher for the lovers who haven't seen their incomaptibilties. But odds are just odds. And there's always this dissimilarities of culture, because often, the pair are from different countries.
you, rice5899 had a happy ending, because you found a genuine person online (and then again, there's this a possibility of finding someone in person, but is untrue to the person he projects, right?).
It all boils down to one thing -- love IS a thing of luck, not of finding the right person, but finding him at the right time.
I myself have an online relationship, and it is going quite well for me. I guess it's because we are compatible in our basic beliefs, and I did had the luck of finding the right guy for me -- online =)Lyn
