Pen is mightier than the sword .So true is this saying. Who uses this pen most effectively in the current age? But of course media. Gone are the days when it used to play the meek and the submissive role giving way under the pressure of the rich and the powerful.Today the omni present and the bolder media plays the watch dog of the new age and more enlightened socio-political arena, which encompasses not only a society or a nation, but the entire world. But just as there are two sides of a coin, the media too has some negative effectsas the number of newspapers and television news channels is increasing, the media people, in order to attract viewers, often make a big issue out of a small one, and hence make it more delectable. How do you think media can be more responsible and balanced?

actually if media will work positively ,it really benefits the society but media sometimes becomes very much negative.Sometimes they hype somethings to such a great extent .& specially the media covering of celebrities is really in bad taste. Also media gives too much importance to bad nes like murder etc.It generallt sensaliase some stupid news.Modern media is driving by TRP ratings

yes,the celebrities should also allwed to have their privacy. Most of the news are cheap stupid ones, probably to attract simple minds hence increasing the TRP.Thanks rb200406.:)

Well, i feel that media is well responsible but then as you said, due to the increase of competetors, they show some things to grab the viewers attention. But then, i feel that the media shows what the truth is and it wants the world to know what is happening around the world. I even feel that the media has become clever enough to find the taste of the viewers.

The negative effects of the media outweigh the positive effects because it tends to promote so much violence. Exposing the children to the violence makes them think that this is the norm. In terms of being positive, the media affects out children and it would have a positive effect on them if it encouraged them to do the right thing. Promoting violence less in the media would make the media more responsible.
