Do you believe that a woman has the right to choose abortion?

I personally once put one of my children up for adoption due to the fact that he was conceived in a rape . I truly believe that a woman has the right to choose her own path and the right to choose whether or not she wants to continue or terminate a pregnancy. For my own personal concience it was not a choice that I opted to take but I will uphold to my last breath the right of any woman anywhere to terminate a pregnancy within the first trimester of gestation or if the fetus is endangering her own life. What do you think?

I think abortion on demand is a good choice for those who want to terminate a pregnancy. I was also impregnated by a rapist but I chose to cause my own miscarriage. I was 15 and didn't feel I could go to my parents and couldn't bare the thought of being pregnant. I was a virgin when I was raped and had only kissed a boy, a boy I dated for a year. I commend you for your choice and support those who want to go that route, it just wasn't for me.

I was your age when I had my first child. After my fourth I went ahead and had my tubes tied to alleviate my distress over the possibility of it ever happening again. You made the right choice. Regardless of whether or not you had had the child and put him up for adoption or had in fact had an abortion these were your better options. Now that your older and hopefully wiser you may choose to start a family after a while. Hopefully you bear children conceived in love. Good luck.

You are a brave woman to carry a rape child. Good for you, I don't know that I could be that strong.
My belief on abortion that it is up to the individual and no one has the right to tell someone else what to do with her body. I don't think I could go through with it, but I'm barren so that's not likely I'll have to ever face that.
I do applaud your bravery & conviction, tho.

I have three other children of my own. I just felt like I couldn't love him like I love my other children, but at the same time I don't beleive that God is subject to big mistakes and starting a life cannot be a mistake, no matter how it comes about.

I absolutely endorse yours view, its the woman choice to opt for abortion but I could never understand why some one carry on with the pregnancy caused by rape? There was another discussion in these lines and I could never get an answer on that account.

I am pro-choice. I believe we, as women, have a right to decide what happen's within our bodies. I like to know that my freedon of choice is being respected, and if I choose to have an abortion, I could. That I don't have to go behind a building and have a hanger inserted in me, to have an illegal abortion, if they make the illegal again.

Thank you for your response. Very few men uphold the woman's right to choose in countries other than America and Great Britain.

I dont think a woman has the right to play God. There is always adoption.

People are picky about adoption and they will normally accept an older child only if their alternative to adopt an infant or newborn is stymied. Luckily I had found adoptive parents for my son before he was born. In fact they were going to videotape the birth but they arrived 17 minutes after he was born and thus were not able to capture the rapture. However he left the hospital with them a week later. My last parental edict was to sign the paperwork to allow him to be circumcised. Since then I have left him completely to his parents. Except for most birthdays.

There are very good reasons why our right to choose was adjudicated and legalized in the first place. Cheif amonst them is the fact that if it is not legal women will continue to have them anyway and many will get butchered in the process!

i believe that a woman has the right choose if she wants to get pregnant or not. But i dont think they have the right to abort the child they are bearing. God choose u to get pregnant then u have to accept it and admit it. It is Gods blessing no matter what u think.

Some people do not believe in God and some people are jsut not ready for the responsibilities of being a parent when they still feel like kids themselves.

Sure she does. She has every right to do whatever it is with her body that she desires. No one, especially not the government, has the right to poke their nose in her uterus for any reason. It's her body and her life. If she can live with the choices she makes regarding an unwanted pregnancy, then we have no right to tell her what to do with her body.
We should be more concerned with the millions of kids in foster care and the social system that will never have permanant homes because no adopting couple wants an older child. They'd rather wait up to 8 years on an infant that is a day old and race specific. Finding homes for the children, sometimes as young as 1 year old, should be our primary concern rather than worrying about a blob of cells that has no life to it. It has no brain and no sentienence. Therefore, why worry about it?
