Guitar hero - a good buy?

I visited best buy today and tried out a demo of guitar hero 2. It gets a little getting used to playing it. The demo has a good variety of songs but I'm getting thoughts of buying it since I might just get bored playing it just like what happened with my dance revolution dance pad.

I think this game is a blast! Guitar Hero 2 has the nice feature of being able to play bass, lead or rhythm with another player at different levels of expertise. My son kicks butt on expert level and I can hold my own on medium. Once that fifth note gets introduced on expert level, I'm lost, lol. Dude, I can say, "Yeah I play Freebird," lol.

I played this game at my friend's house and it is FUN. You can rent it from Hastings or Blockbuster b/4 you buy it, so you can try it out & see if you even like it. It's difficult to play until you get used to the control, but it's really cool - I like when they play the Reverend Horton Heat song - I can't play it very well, but I'm slowly learning :)

If I rent it, does it include the guitar and its accessories?

its really fun... but if you dont get PS2, you can try FretsOnFire!!! its like a guitar hero for PC, just get your keyboard, play F1 to F5 and bang your head!!! try searching for it or ask me more... the game has about 30mb, comes with 3 musics, but you can download the guitar hero songs for it

I'd say the game is a great buy if you like guitars and want to play a game that's a little different.

Oh, man, I love guitar hero 2. Especially if you have a friend to play with and buy two guitars-- then you can play cooperative, where one person plays guitar and the other bass (or rhythm guitar for songs that don't use a bass). It's pretty awesome. Addictive, though-- and can get tiring for your hands after a while. But still awesome.

I got guitar hero 2 for christmas and it is great. if you are a fan of games like Dance Dance Revolution, Aplitude and other rythem you will like it even more. the one thing is that after the medium difficulty it gets alot harder fast. that is hard to adjust to but with practice you will

I have played both guitar hero 1 and 2 and both were awesome to play. I'm a little suprised in the other responses that people had to get used to playing it. Maybe it was just me, but I seemed to do very with it when I first played it (perhaps its because I actually started on easy and played every song, then went on the medium, etc.). I think when you get to hard or expert, then the "getting used to playing" sets in. In my experiences playing both games, I found that guitar hero 2 is easier to play than guitar hero 1. This is obvious since there were a lot of people complaining that they couldn't get 100% on every song and that the hammering and pull offs were just too hard. In guitar hero 2, hammers and pull offs are way easier. However, I like the song selection better on guitar hero 1. If you like the game, then I would recommend buying it. I understand you getting bored with DDR as the same thing happened to me. But since It's nearly impossible for me to 5 star everyting on hard and expert, it's something that I can strive for when I play it. Not to mention there are of stuff you can "purchase", but to get money you have to do well on the songs.

I would highly recommend buying guitar hero! Me and my friends are all obsessed with it and we fight over who gets to play the next song. I have spent nights alone at my friend's apartment playing this game for hours straight. It is a good buy!
