Are plug-ins air fresheners safe to use around Cats? Does anyone have a clue?

We use plug in air freshners in several rooms of our home. We also have two indoor cats. They have never had a problem in over 4 years. I don't see why they wouldn't be safe. The fragrance is really light, and not strong. Hope this helps.
