Breeding, handfeeding and raising birds has been the most wonderful thing I've ever done in my life. These beautiful creatures are much more intelligent than most humans give them credit. Watching the male and hen start with making their beautiful nest just perfect and then seeing them courting each other, is simply heart warming! Then to see the little male come in and out of the nestbox, gorging himself to keep his little hen fed and fat, is a sign that his love for her is true. She sits the eggs and he is the food bin. LOL Finally after a period of incubation, the little naked babies pip the egg and a new life is born. A miracle to see! I was just wondering if any of you have had this marvelous experience?

Some birds are so beautiful, like the graceful swan and the white peacocks when they are trying to impress their mates. They come in a variety of beautiful colors and are nice to look at. They help me to relieve stress.

I know what you mean about relieving stress. I can have a bad day going and then one of the talkers will start to chuckle out loud, or ask "Are you O.K.", plus many many other words, sentences and sounds. It's amazing how they pick up on your emotions.

I love birds also, but I wouldn't ever raise them. I like to see them free in nature. I don't feel they are supposed to be locked up in cages.

I completely understand your feelings and opinion, but, these wonderful creatures can bring so much love and companionship to us. They can be compared to dogs and cats, who were all wild in nature to begin with.....but most are wonderful loving pets, now.
