My friend gave me a bottle of caduet 5mg and the expirations date is July '05. can I still take it .

I would also say that you need to inform your doctor that you have those and are wanting to take them because you don't know if you have any allergic reaction to them and that could be very dangerous. It would only take seconds or few minutes to give you a reaction.

Taking any kind of medication that has expired especially a year ago is not a good idea. It could have harmful effects on you that is why they place those expiration dates on them.
