Is there such a thing as shoppers anonymous for people that shop too much?

I was wondering if there was such a thing since they have it for alcoholics and other types of illnesses. Does this exist since there are many people who shop too much and can not afford to spend as much as they do? Would you be on that would need this kind of help?

I have no knowledge of such an organisation, but I do acknowledge the current need. The internet has created an easy medium for shoppers which has helped to promote wasteful expenditure over the past few years. I should imagine that the service is currently provided by related organisations such as credit councilling which would highlight the source of the initial debt problems, and general councilling for people who have become depressed due to the rising cost of credit card commitments etcetera. Fortunately, I have no need of such a service because despite the desire to spend lavishly at times and purchase products that I do not really need, I am capable of budgetting and will not spend money that I do not possess.

I am the same way though there is a need for some kind of group to help those people who shop too much and for no really good or important reason.

If there was I would take my friend ..she shops and spends and buy things just to spend her money..if she has fifty cents left she spends it..If it were necessary things, I could see buying ..but she must have about 30 flashlight and equally as many watches more than that in number of shoes..She calls herself a "shopaholic"+

Oh my goodness. She must have a full house load full of things if she is always spending. I could never spend like that even if I was rich.

I'm not sure if it exists or not. But, I think that would be a good idea. Some shoppers really need it.

I am sure there are a lot of people out there that could benefit from this kind of group as it would help their financial situation if they did not spend too much or too often. I would not need this help though either.
