Blake Carrington actor alive?

Someone please let me know if John Forsythe - the man who played oil magnate Blake Carrington in 1980's soapie - is still alive. I really loved the soapie and I think to-date none can beat it.
I'd like info on the man and other actors like the soft spoken John James who did Jeff Colby.
And also, anyone got all the seasons on DVD? I only managed to get Season 1 of Dynasty from Amazon.com.
