Internet is one of the best and fast media today that spreads information to people at all corners of the world. This is gaining good popularity in the developing countries. However, there it is very costly today. Do you think it should be available free? If not immediately, do you foresee anytime when this service will be absolutely free?

Some places it's already free and with this you will also be able to call for free from your cellular phone, if it has WLAN. More and more cities offer free internet to attract tourists and business.

Most definitely the internet should stay free. It does not belong to any one person or group, so it should not be subjected to some kind of fee or tax. The key is to keep the greedy fingers of government off of it, they are dying to tax it in some way.

I think that first talking on the phone is going to be free and after these will expand to the Internet... because new technologies apear and the Internet will be used like a background for those services which you will find in the near future as usefull as you find Internet now... everything loses value... Internet is going to be soon like the MSdos Language is for a PC right now...

I don't see it being free. Just because everyone uses it, doesn't mean that companies are going to stop making their profits from providing people with service. If anything, they're gonna reap more benefits as the popularity grows.

There is FREE internet service it is NetZero Free but you have to deal with popups all the time. I dont think there will ever bee FREE internet all over the world. The companies are makiang way too much money off of this industry they are not going to give that up.

They will. Because by doing so, they will earn more money from the sponsors. Sponsors will get better coverage. So, they will be glad to pay more and more to the service providers.

I highly doubt that. People are always looking to make money off of somethign that really doesn't cost as much. However there are some pretty crappy free services out there today.

Somehow I don't think so. The companies make a fortune from us and I don't think they are about to give away those profits. We can dream though. :)

I don't think it is going to be free. The companies are making lot of money so then why they should sacrifice their earning.
