What will be our goal in our life? Is it be a money or is it a status or respect given by peoples?

I am 48 now! I am a professional , earning pretty good money and living a quite comfortable life with my family consisting of wife and one son! Initially at the young age it is insecurity which attracts one towards the money and every body at that age thinks that money is every thing for him/her! But once if we make enough money we realise that, many people who are practically illiterate or absolutely boors do also have lots of money! They are also rich and they have made money by working hard! But then we realise that they don't have status. They don't have social standing . though they may have money but basically they lack the mannerisms , etiquette's and decency which only one can have from education! Then this makes us to think and we change our ideas and we try to improve our own selves to have certain status in the society! For doing this we may have our own big house, a good Car, Nice furniture with modern interiors etc! With this also , we are happy for some time! We soon realise that there are many people who are having similar things with them, they are educated too , but then they are not liked by the society for their bad deeds! This makes a change in your life and you try to mend your self and you start doing the things which are supposed to be done by any human being in normal course, but because of rat race what you had in earning the name and fame, you have forgotten about these things! We start doing the selfless things in the interest of mankind, society and for our own satisfaction! And very soon we realise that people start appreciating you and your deeds and this praise gives immense satisfaction to ones soul. So ultimately I think, its not the money, nor the status that can make one happy. It is after all the deeds of a person, which will make him immortal. Good deeds by great people made them immortal and we know them even tody though they were born some hundred years back when our grand parents might have born and these people will be remembered for coming generations also and this thing will go on continue as the fragrance of a flower can never be hidden! So I think one should there fore work hard for welfare of the mankind and welfare of the society with selfless interest and this had to be goal of any sensible man with humanity! Thanks dear friend! Your topic of discussion was quite thought provoking! May God bless you!

I don't have any goal becoz I stopped of aiming at goals in life in my late teens.I don't know if the goals be satisfied or achieved that you have mentioned.Goals are limitless and they take your time and energy. Sometimes we realise their futility after achieving them.

I think that the goal in life should be happiness. I have 3 children and another on the way. My youngest, 9 months old, is disabled and blind. Having a child with disabilities has opened my eyes to so many things I took for granted. I used to wake up thinking I wasn't going to do anything important that day so why try. Now, I wake up and think, I wonder how many times I can get my blind, disabled baby to smile, laugh, coo, try to roll over, hold his head, etc. My two year old is very intelligent as well as my six year old and they are all the lights of mine and my husbands life. Despite all our medical issues and money issues, we are one big happy family. So, my goal, to have happy children that when they are adults, they can tell their children how wonderful their mom made their lives and how many great memories they have to share! Yes, money is a necessity and respect is nice, but who could trade love for anything?

Your goals are the road maps that guide you and show you what is possible for your life. Step by step we inches to the target like wise the road also showing the achievement through the milestones. If we do feel the life also as road, we will reach the goal as prescribed.
