Mine earn a dollar per year of age, but they have to put half in savings.

We've made a chore chart for my son (he's 7) and for every chore he completes he get's a star. He has about 7 chores a day and we pay him $.10 a star.

Gee this one takes me back many years to when our son 'earned' pocket money on the following basis. He got so much for each job/day but if he did it every day of the week he got a 'bonus' and if he did it less than half the week he got nothing for that job. The reason for this was so that he didn't work out how much he needed and then only do what he had to so he could get that amount of money. Also he too had to save (put in his bank account) half of his pocket money but it he managed to save 60% every quarter then he got another bonus in his bank. He couldn't withdraw from his bank account without our approval and it had to be for a special reason. He learnt to budget and also how to save from a very young age.
