Giving out your EMAIL!

maybe that's what they're really askin for, lol! maybe that's their way of sellin their cuteness (yikes!), or maybe they want to test how effective their anti-virus and anti-spam softwares are, hehe. and who knows, maybe that's their trash-emails, i think everyone (specially those who signed up for paid-readings) got one now :P

For anyone sending viruses they can find it easily even if you don't put it out there. I don't exactly hide mine all the time, although most of the time I don't put it out there all over. Between my antivirus program, the fact I use an online email and not one I download to my computer and the good ol' delete button... they really can't bug me more than once or send me much of anything unless it's the newest and most updated version of a virus that the programs I run don't know about yet. It can happen whether you put your name out there or not. If they really want you they can find you. I guess I just view it like a phone, you can block them and never hear from them again. My email isn't all that private to me.

most of the time, people never care the danger of giving their emails out to any kind of forum. i myself are giving my email to open forums but what i am giving is my junkmail it is not my personal email.

i dont really give out my email in myLot or any other open forum...it's inviting problems. i will give to some very nice friends though, through private messages

Ya I have no idea why someone would do something like that unless they want the trouble that comes with it.

Someone is passing out their email? I know I don't! I don't want my email passed around getting a bunch of emails that could offend me or my partner. Let along, you have a great point of email std. hahahahaha You have a new term for email viruses. :) Great! I love it!

If you want to explore yourself, make new friends, you need to provide your email address in forums. For an interaction & exchange of ideas, communication, a media should be there. Forum is the platform to discuss various issues, gain some knowledge. When you get an unwanted email, spam, avoid them by reporting as spam. If you have good anti-virus, your system will be protected from virus emails.

I wouldn't give out my personal email. I have several email addresses and one of them is with a fake name so i can use that if i wanted strangers to email me, not that i would ever want that. I think people do it because they are ignorant and overly trusting of others on the internet. It is amazing how dumb people can be sometimes, especially on myspace. Girls probably do it for attention.

I don't know why people give out their private details in an open forum. I know people how've given out their phone numbers in discussion forums. Madness! I don't do it anyway. Too many nutters out there! LOL!

What if the one that posted the email is not the owner of it?? ANd if its his/her email,its his/her problem why he/she did it. Who are we to judge? There are so many users world wide, that u dont even need to have an email address from someone, u just have to type anything and for sure that address has been taken. Easy, right?

when I just started joining forums, I did that once and learned from it. I got lots of spam. Oh boy! I regreted it. But that was long ago. No more now.

yeh isnt that like giving out your phone #?. An email address to me is on the same lines. Thats why i think its smart to have more than 1 email address. Nice topic take care
