I got married yesterday and I am not quite sure what to do with the cake top and the flowers we took home. What is the best way to store the cake top? Right now it is in a covered pan in the fridge. For the bouquet and boutinerre from the groom, what is the best way to preserve those? I know I won't want to keep the entire boquet, just a flower or two. I need the best way to dry and save them without the flowers getting all icky. I am trying to keep thm in good condition by leaving them in the fridge. What to do with all of the left over cake? I have at least half of the grooms cake left and 1/4th of the wedding cake.

Thanks. Yes we are still getting each other gifts from Christmas. My husband birthday was just a few days ago so I bought hima combination wedding/birthday prsent. Thankfully my parents decided to pay for the entire event so we had enough money to celebrate the holdiay.

By the cake top, do you mean the top portion of the cake that you save to eat in a year on your anniversary? If so, I would freeze it, and make sure to mark the package as to the contents. For all the extra cake, I would package it into little foil packages and freeze it. Cake freezes really well.

I have never heard that before. I imagine you could sun dry the roses, and I'm sure a flower shop can give you other ideas. As far as the cake, I am sure you have solved that by now, smile.
