SPOILER ALERT! Stuart Damon has been on General Hospital as Allan Quartermaine for 30 years. I just read an article on soap central that during February sweeps his character will suffer a fatal heart attack. It said he was fired. What did he do to be fired after 30 years of loyal service? It is not his fault that the writers haven't given him anything good to do for years. I will miss his big teddy bear presence.

Oh wow.. I haven't heard this..I have watched GH since I was a little kid. I hate when they kill off characters that have been on for a long time.

I would be thrilled if I was wrong! Since I can't copy and paste the article for you, type this into your browser and read the story yourself. http://www.soapcentral.com/gh/news/2006/1225-damon.php

I haven't watched General Hospital in years, but I used to tape it and watch it every night. Alan Q has been a staple there for as far back as I can remember. I really watched it a lot in the '80s, and the Quartermain hysteria was a great part of the mix. I even remember far enough back to when Cinderella debuted on TV with Stuart Damon as the prince. I wonder what's up. Maybe he hasn't been satisfied with being put out to pasture like they do all old soap stars and give them nothing much to do. Maybe he has made demands they don't want to comply with. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I love General Hospital. It is one of my favorite soap operas to watch. I have been unable to watch it lately, but I do read the recaps online. I heard this a few days ago and I was shocked when I heard it. I have only been watching General Hospital for about five years now, but it is still sad to see such a good, long-term vet let go from a show, especially my favorite show. At the same time, I think this may also be good for the actor. He can do whatever he wants to do now, whether it be retire or search for new work. He should have been shown on General Hospital more, especailly in recent months.

I can't believe it! Alan Quartermaine has been on GH for som many years!! Wow! I'll have to warn my mother who watches the show everyday. He's like a patriarch on that show-maybe they'll revive him...

I can't believe it. I haven't watched GH lately but that has been due to time. Alan though was one character I knew I could count on to be there. I started watching back in the 80's and it's hard to imagine the show without him there. He's just one that I've always enjoyed. I hope they reconsider this decision.

I think its a shame Allan is leaving the show. I think that he will prove to be the killer of Rick Weber and that is what will cause the heart attack. GH needs to keep their senior actors. without them the show isnt the same!

Today he denied killing Rick and said he thought Laura did it. I wonder who really did it. Oh my God! I just had a flash of brilliance. I am sure Scotty did it. He is coming back soon.

I was watching today and noticed that they are saying Alan killed Rick Weber. I am wondering what will come of that. Lulu, Spinelli, & Dillion found info that said that it wasn't Laura that killed him and it was Alan.

Maybe they disagreed on something and he decided that it was time to leave.

I am just sick about thisnews on Stuart. Right before his 39th anniversary with the show, too! Tsk tsk to all the GH top execs for allowing this to happen. Who is next, Monica? Ned is all but gone now, A.J. was so very sad how terrible they made his character look, all over the love of spoiled Mikey Vorinthos! Now with Lila gone too, (I am possitive that her firing was what killed Anna Lee, her portrayer). I have a 'save the Q's' petition and thread going at my site, for anyone who cares enough to join up and sign it. Lot's of great spoilers and GH discussions there too. Not just for Liason fans! Anyways, I will miss Alan and so glad he and Monica will get good stories for the next little while, no matter how brief. My website link is: http://p067,ezboard.com/bliasonitesgathering2

I keep hoping that the story is wrong. It just seems so misguided to kill the chief of staff. Why do they want to ruin the Q's? I was thinking that Monica killed Rick Webber, especially after she stole the date book from Lulu. I thought that Lila left because she got to sick to perform.

I am so upset! Who will read the Christmas Story? It seems to be a trend at ABC - look at how they let Julia Barr go over at AMC.
