Yesterday I was married 34 years to the lovely lady in photo. Fortunately, she still put up with me. How long have you all been married?

ole Roz has been married a good long time himself. So, he does have advice worth listening to in that department. Good to see you posting again.

Congratulations on your 34 years, I managed 15 years before i got divorced and then tried again but that just lasted only 18 months, so now I have given up!

Seriously, when you have given up looking, and aren't even trying, that is when you are most likely to find someone. That's what happened to me. When a person is trying to find a spouse they often don't act as their real selves. Personally, I was down right goofy and awkward around girls I really liked. When I had just about given up on finding somebody, ie. wasn't really trying, was when I met my future wife. Since, I did not consider her as a possible partner I did not do my usual stupid stuff, but behaved normally. Turns out when I act normal, girls actually can stand to be around me. Anyway, not trying to find a spouse worked for me, maybe it will work for you.

Hi red, Well done on 34 years...obviously your gracious wife has a lot of tolerance and understanding! (said with a broad grin!) So 50 years isn't that far away for you guys then?? The first time was almost 28 years, which should never have been, sadly, as 28 years are gone! This time I have found a friend, lover and someone that studies their own attitudes and behaviours, then communicates about them! So the last 9 years seem to have flown past, 7 of them in marriage! With a bit of luck and good living we may very well still hit the 50 year mark as well!! ( I stand a good chance as they say only the good die young! lol)

Indeed, my wife does have a lot of tolerance and understanding, lucky for me! Glad to hear you are doing better the second time around. Just goes to prove a person can learn from experience. Merry Christmas to you and the little lady!

I guess I should have expected that response. Hope things go better for you in the near future and you can then say, " Not long enough!".

Congratulations to you and your wife! 34 years is quite an accomplishment, especially these days when people give up too easily. I'm not married, probably because I refused to settle for a relationship that I knew would never stand the test of time- I just haven't met the right one, and maybe I never will. I'm OK with that. I have a wonderful family and a boyfriend who I truly love. Maybe we'll make the decision to take the plunge, but it's too soon to tell. My parents just celebrated 52 years! Merry Christmas to you and your family.

In our case, 34 years really is not that much of an achievement. My wife is really easy to get along with and a very nice person who loves me more than I deserve. When people ask me how I got such a good wife, I have to tell them it was dumb luck as we met when we were both 19 and got married at 21. I promise I was not knowledgable enough to know how to choose a good spouse. I sort of lucked into it.
