My Granddaughter has a huge gash on her face

My granddaughter was up visiting her paternal grandmother. She was asleep when their cat jumped from a skylight onto her face. The gash is almost from her mouth to her ear. What kind of person leaves a cat in a room with a baby? My daughter is so upset. She just started crying. She is so afraid the baby is going to have a scar, not to mention all our Christmas pictures this year will have this big red gash on her face. We went to the pharamcy and talked to a pharmist. She said clean it with peroxide and put poloysporin on it. Hopefully it won't scar. It just breaks my heart to think how upset the baby must have been when this happened. When they dropped the baby off they didn't even say sorry. Anybody have any suggestions to keep this from scarring besides what we are doing?

I see you posted this three months ago. How is your granddaughter? Did it scar? For burns and cuts, always squeeze the liquid out of the vitamin E capsol, and put it on. Aloe can help, but E will heal better.

There is still a thin red mark. I will buy some vitamin E capsols and try them.

Well Linda I do hope that it did not scar and any sensible Person should know not to leave a cat near a Baby as most of them will pounce on them as they can smell the Milk on the Babies, so I really hope that she is not scared.

There is still a thin red line, so I think she will always have a scar.
