I understand that the oil that appears in your hair are the natural oils that are produced by your body to enrich and nourish your skin and hair. Experiments have been done by various people whereby they don't wash their hair for weeks/months. After a few days it starts to get irritating, but soon after that, when the natural oils start to do their work, the irritation goes and the hair starts to look very good, no itching, no dandruff, just really healthy, good looking hair. Hope you're having a good Christmas Day and all the best for the New Year.

Hi again, I think it may well be bad for your hair to shampoo it every day, the chemicals that are in the shampoo may tend to strip the natural goodness and protective coating from the hair. Also it could well dry the scalp thereby causing the itchyness and dandruff. I'm not a scientist but I do know that when you start combining different chemicals in the name of beauty it can be a bad thing. Hope I'm not scaring you haha

You will have to take a little care in such case. First of all meet a dermatology and ask for a proper prescription. Do you have dandruff of anything. Try using some decent branded shampoo for oily hair. Take good care. Thanks

When I was 12, my sister told me to apply 2 teaspoonful of coconut oil to hair before taking the bath. In our community, we take bath everymorning. Since then I did not stop and I have black hair and due to aging only a few grey hair. I do not dye hair. After all hair needs nutrients. I keep chemical oriented shampoos away.

You are oil-riched in your hair ...lol. I think type of your shampoo should be altered and correct type shampoo will make your hair more fresh.

I know exactly what you mean as I have the same sort of hair. First off, DON'T USE HERBAL ESSENCES! Seriously, that shampo is horrible and does absolutely no justic to oily hair. In fact, it's probably making your hair worse. This is because it contains silicone that weighs down and super-oils your hair. It'll look shiny, but on oily hair, a day and it'll be oily again. Spend the extra $$'s and buy a good shampoo for oily hair. It's the BEST thing you can do. Also, don't wash your hair every day. Even if it looks bad, if you was it every day you're teaching your hair that it NEEDS to produce so much oil, so the problem will never get any better. Try not to wash it till every second day. It'll be annoying for the first week or so, but you'll see a difference after that! Also, try not to brush or handle your hair unless its absolutely necessary, as this stimulates the oil follicles and produces more oil.
