What's up, buddy. Is it okay for my "Everyday Greeting"?

When i live in south philly, in small street, i get used to use "What's up, buddy" for my everyday greeting to all friend and neighborhood, as the community there mostly non white people. Because of a habit, i mostly not use "How are you doing?" for the greeting. If i use "What's up buddy?" to all guys and in all occasion, is it okay? is it not considered impolite?
