I never knew that! See how easy it is for people to go on about how divorce doesn't exist in the indian culture and no such word exists! Lol well obviously it does. And I'm sure infidelity, cheating, lying and hurting has been going on since many many years, therefore there must have been many cases where married cuples must have wished to separate from each other. Also I think there are more than one or two Urdu words which are used in Hindi, and sometimes the same word is used but pronounced differently, so why is 'talakh' said to be an Urdu word? Why is it not a Hindi word when Hindu's and Indians all use that word to describe divorce? Oh don't forget the best one...DIYVORSE...the English word pronounced the Indian way!

hi , in hindi divorce is named as Talakh and in which husband and his wife get parted due loss of understanding between them. but in india these cases are rare in my thinknking..in india they can adjust their all actvities not only in happy but also in sorrow.

well there is no pity coz there is no such rule that wife can't leave..and its not shame but its a matter of proud coz here wedding means a relationship for whole life but not a contract which can be broken anytime..

In Indian culture, there is nothing as Divorce. So this word is not included in Hindi Dictionary. However urdu word- Talak is used for same in India.
